Even if Windows 8 tablets haven’t caught on like Intel and Microsoft really wanted, the chip maker is not abandoning hope and is looking for ways to make the slates more attractive to possible customers.
How? Well according to The Verge, by allowing the tablets to run Android apps without any rebooting being involved.
The idea has reportedly been dubbed Dual OS or PC Plus and we’re probably see Intel talk about it during the CES 2014 in Las Vegas, next week. And not only that.
This might be a good to let Windows 8 tablet users take advantage of the plethora of apps found in the Google Play Store, especially since some complain about the lack of apps in the Windows app store.
The idea is certainly not new and we have some devices along these lines appear into the wild, like the Samsung Ativ Q or the ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Pro. And according to reports Intel could be pulling the veil up some dual-devices along these lines at CES 2014 in a few days.
