سامسونگ گلکسی Galaxy S5 در فرودین ۱۳۹۳ به بازار خواهد آمد
سایت مرجعSouth Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics might unveil its upcoming flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone in mid-March rather than on February 23, as some of the latest reports on the matter suggested.
The handset vendor was said not long ago to plan on holding a launch event for the device in London in mid-March, and it appears that it is more likely to do so than to announce it at the MWC 2014 show in Barcelona.
The info comes from Mobile-Review’s Eldar Murtazin, who claims that Samsung is actually undecided on when to unveil the phone, and that it might go for the London launch, as initially planned.
However, the company will also have a press event on February 23, which was recently suggested to be aimed at the unveiling of the flagship device.
The event will take place on the last day of the Sochi Olympic Winter Games 2014, and it might have something to do with that, especially considering that the phone maker has launched a special edition Galaxy Note 3 for the Olympics.
Previous smartphones in the popular Galaxy S series were unveiled at post-MWC events, which suggests that the new handset would have a similar fate as well.
Moreover, as SamMobile notes, Galaxy S5 is expected to land on shelves only in April, and a February unveiling would put too much time between the announcement and the actual availability.
A couple of years ago, Samsung said it loud and clear that it would release new devices soon after formally introducing them, thus making a March unveiling more likely for Galaxy S5.
Unfortunately, no official confirmation on this has been provided as of now, and chances are that more rumors on Galaxy S5’s launch date will emerge until that happens. Also, given that the phone’s specs are still only in a rumor stage, expect various reports on its hardware to pop up as well.
